Hi my name is John Bulpitt, I am your

I have Bass fished since I was four
years old, brought up most weekends of my life fishing the
dams and lakes of the old colonial Rhodesia. It was a long
learning experience of some of the best fishing I would
experience in my life time. During that time I began my bass
boating quest, from ten foot model’s to seventeen foot bass
models I owned six different units until I immigrated after
the Rhodesian war in 1981 to South Africa.
Living in the Transvaal for many years
I became serious about the USA , tournaments, and YES BASS
BOATS!! My experience as an Aircraft technician gave me a
huge advantage into to quality, design and any job that had
to be done right when it came to boats and rigging! Since
then I have qualified thirty four times for South Africa and
represented in the USA sixteen times. I have fished off
every make of Bass Boat available in the USA and in South
Africa and have intensive technical and in -depth knowledge
of this product and industry.
In 1984 I represented the first SA Bass
team to the USA. While there I decided on a Kevlar re-
enforced hull from Hydra Sports and a bassin buddy of mine
Gil Eggberry and I brought the first 15’ & 17’ models into
South Africa.From these hulls many of the models in our
local boats were derived ,plus following Ranger hulls.
In 1987 Gordon Brown and I imported the
first Ranger 320 V 15’ 10” long boats into the country.
These two units are still alive and well twenty three years
later ! in excellent structural condition!!
What a testimony to quality of build
and durability. They are both still running the 175HP EFI
Mariner motors they were fitted with originally. Their re
sale value was impressive even after twenty three years.
